Early Lousewort - Pedicularis canadensis

Writer: Jennifer MoodyJennifer Moody

Captured at Akins Prairie May 5, 2021

Fun Fact - this species is hemiparasitic - meaning that its roots will attach to the roots of a host grass plant to get nutrients. It does have chlorophyll to conduct photosynthesis, so it is not completely parasitic.
