Downy Gentian - Gentiana puberulenta

Captured Sept. 19th, 2021

In late summer, the tallgrass prairie wears a myriad of bright colors. One of the most spectacular is the vibrant blue of the Downy Gentian (Gentiana puberulenta). Finding the flowers of these low-growing plants feels like finding a gemstone amongst the rocks.
